You can also opt for environmental protection, such as carbon monoxide, flood, temperature change and smoke sensors, as well as a panic button and an emergency alert button. New for 2022, ADT security systems feature the Google Nest doorbell. The highly-rated device features HD video and two-way audio. It can also tell the difference between people, packages, animals, and vehicles. Not too concerned about the neighbor's cat hanging out on your porch? How much does ADT Home Security cost?

ADT offers five security system service plans to choose from: Basic ($28.99/month), Secure (45.99/month), Smart (49.99/month), Video ($56.99/month), and Complete ($59.99/month). Plans require a 36-month minimum contract. Additionally, in the event of early contract termination, ADT may require the client to pay 75% of the monthly charges due for the balance of the first 36-months. The company does offer a 6-month money-back guarantee and a limited warranty for their products (restrictions apply), but overall, ADT seeks a long-term commitment from the customer.

To help protect customers against the cost of unexpected service calls, ADT offers extended limited warranty protection, called their Quality Service Plan, or QSP. While ADT's electronic technology is designed to meet the highest standards, no manufactured equipment is 100% perfect. QSP adds additional coverage some customers might prefer.

ADT has invested in upgrading to the latest wireless technology to help protect your home and keep the installation process as streamlined as possible. Like many newer systems, ADT wireless security systems rely on radio waves to connect your home’s cameras and sensors to the control panel.

In addition, ADT operates six monitoring centers. In the event that your assigned monitoring center goes offline, a security breach or call for help from your home will be automatically rerouted to the next available center.

The ADT Essentials plan for basic digital monitoring service has a limited warranty on parts and labor, something that other competitors do not offer. If you want additional protection, the Essentials Plus package includes 2-way voice monitoring. Like all plans, this one includes monitoring for police, fire, and medical emergencies. However, both plans require customers to have access to their own landline phone.

Customers who do not have landlines can opt for the ADT Secure plan. This plan includes monitoring for police, fire, and medical emergencies and add the peace of mind that comes from knowing that an intruder cannot cut your home’s landline. There is an ADT protection plan for all budgets and needs.

ADT Home Security systems are very user-friendly, and during installation, the technician will show you how to use the equipment. There is technical support available to answer any questions customers have about the equipment. ADT offers professional installation, several monthly plans with competitive rates, and allows users to choose between wireless and hardwired systems. Keep in mind, though, that customers must sign a three-year agreement for all ADT security monitoring plans.

Adt endangered my life! 2 years of paying an system didn't work. Agents laugh at me a disabled elderly man an couldn't even tell me how to use equipment. There technicians tell me operators are idiots an operators tell me technicians don't no what their doing as proven as repeat visits for incompetent. BUT operators laughing at me trying to get ambulance an system not working as well as one honest operator telling my system never worked!! Adt endangers peoples lives an should be shut down

I was previously a customer of ADT, cancelled and had a salesman cold call me after that. He knocked on my door and I said, “Thanks for stopping by but I’m not interested.” He continued telling me how important it was that I buy from him. I declined again. He continued further so I told him to stop talking to me and leave my property. He bowed up, lunged toward me and said, “I’ll talk to you whenever I want!” It only got worse with him physically threatening me. I regretted installing this system within a month. By, then, you are outside the ability to cancel without paying a fee. Otherwise, you are required to pay 75% of what is left of the contract. Installation of the cameras was a nightmare as two did not work and the tech told me he would return at some point to install them. In the meantime, he closed my ticket and ADT wanted the full purchase amount of the two cameras and refused to roll them into the contract. It took about three phone calls to various people to get this resolved. I have had issues with the cameras not recording motion events. I have tested them and they would not capture me. So disappointed in this company. I used to like them but lately you can't even get a tech that knows what they are talking about. They have dumped their old partners and are 'reorganizing' as per the tech who told me I have to pay them $1200 for a new system and double my monthly cost. This after just calling for a new CO2 detector as mine went bad. My system is 7 years old so No. Not going to happen. That is not the way to treat loyal customers. On here looking for a new provider.

After 7 years of being a loyal customer, today, ADT advised me I need to replace my entiire system at a cost of $1200 and double my monthly bill. I called because the CO2 detector went out. I am so disgusted. What an awful business model. And to think I used to brag about how happy I was with them!

Do not sign anything from ADT. Once you sign, you are there's for three years. This pays for all equipment and heartache from dealing with customer service that shows they do not care. Be careful with this company.

After 15+ years I am now trying to terminate my service. I am not having any luck. I had my system updated to the newer system and apparently one or more of the new sensors is faulty. All my attempts to have a service rep come and replace/ repair the unit/s they installed has failed because I am not paying a service call charge fo something installed less than a year ago. We were gone or two months so we only found out upon returning. Our children said the system beeping began the week we left so it was only 5 months old when the problem began. To whom this may concern: We phoned in to possibly get a camera that we could use to allow us to have a better view at night. On 9-13-2022, we ended up with the Nest products which consists of a camera and a doorbell camera. Thus far we are happy with the new edition. However, we have a Pulse camera in the driveway that is inoperable. This camera which is fairly new was operating fine, and of course it doesn't integrate with what is now in place.
