Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

So far Select Home warranty has been easy to deal with once a claims manager is assigned. It is important to know what the policy covers because it is not across the board coverage. The only disappointment is the slowness of approval once the technician diagnoses the problem.

The phone call to set up the claim was easy but was quite disappointed with the outcome. Toilet was making a strange noise like it was struggling to flush. The contracted plumber identified the issue as being a water pressure valve where our water heater is. Around 30 mins after the plumber sent in the work order to Select for having the valve replaced, I received an email stating the following: After a Review of the diagnosis concerning the specific issue with your unit, it has been determined that your Policy Does Not Cover this issue, the unit needs a valve replaced and valve related issues are not covered by your policy. Always a fight to get anything covered. I won’t be going using select home warranty ever again. I don’t recommend them. They are the worst!!😡

I spoke with a man named Bob. He was kind and helpful. He tried to explain everything about how the claim process works. Nice guy. Seemed to care about me and what I was thinking. My concern is the delay in getting approval. The contractor comes out and calls in the diagnosis. Then I have to wait for a phone call/email for up to 48hrs to see if they'll cover the repair. Yet it's in my manual as covered. Then I have to send pictures. Now I'm waiting again for another 24-48 hours. Instead of talking to the technician, getting the diagnosis and then moving on to the next step. So much longer than American Home Shield's process. I can see why they have 373 negative reviews.

Quick and efficient service from Select and from service provider. Repairman was courteous and efficient and washer was back operating in a reasonable amount of time.

I have had their service for about 9 mo, called them on June 26 to have fringe serviced at our rental property. It took about a week to get a tech out and he diagnosed the problem as a control board and the price was 400.00 to fix. 1 week later I called Select to find out what was going on and they told me that $400 was to much to pay for a 9 year old refrigerator and that they approved $225 that i could use towards the repair or i could buy a new 1. Of coarse i was mad and told them that I wanted to cancel the plan and get my money back so they kicked up the $225 to $300. At same time the manager told me I would still be charged for the 9 month's. So we decided to have the repair done... Read More

I submitted a claim for a AC repair which turned out that the whole unit needed to be replaced. I supplied 3 plus years of maintenance receipts. I also submitted the diagnosis and the receipt for the replacement. I was then told by the claims department that I would only be getting $150 out of $2000 (which is the max payout). This has been going on for over a year and still have not receive any type of reimbursement. I keep getting told that they are reviewing the claim.

When I first got this warranty I wanted to save money if any of my appliance broke and for 400 bucks it certainly is a steal. I got a replacement door on my dish washer installed one week ago and am happy with Select's service team.
