ADT is located in Boca Raton, Florida. For this review, we will be focusing exclusively on ADT's professionally installed residential home security systems.

I would never recommend ADT to anyone!!! They all lie to you you to get sales, install cameras and say outdated, update your system and then you have no choice but to buy updated equipment!! Never will ever recommend ADT! The advocates act like they care, give you a number to call if you ever have issues or concerns because “they care” and then never call you back or better yet, it’s a bad number!! Customer service is horrible! I pay for new cameras that do not record! I can’t get ahold of anybody and they certainly do not know what to tell you!! I am taking this to the better business bureau to get out of my contract!!! They are horrible! Don’t do it!!!

ADT will DECEIVE AND SCAM YOU PERIOD!!
ADT is not a trustworthy business. They will sell you out-dated equipment and tell you that this is their best equipment. Their customer service department will definitely hang up on you, if you want to complain about ADT.
ADT WILL DEFINITELY LIE TO YOU ABOUT EVERYTHING, AND WILL FIGHT YOU EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW YOU ARE COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED IN WHAT ADT HAS DONE TO DEFRAUD AND SCAM YOU.
WHY does ADT have such a HIGH RATING WITH THE BBB??
With the thousands of CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS AGAINST ADT, THE CLASS ACTION SUITS , ADT is still the number one security company. WHY????

I asked ADT before I signed the contract "if I move will I be charged?" They said no. Now, I moved to a rental home. Now they gave me two options; Option 1a- I will transfer and install the system, and the contract will be starting over for 3 years plus a $73 fee Option 1b- ADT install it and the contract will start over for 5 years plus an installation fee. Option 2- Pay the termination fee. In my case, it'll be around $600. Which is equal to the rest of the monthly payments left over under the contract. Second issue: ADT arbitrarily increased the monthly payment from $52.99 to $57.38 even though a fixed monthly payment amount written in my contract. I placed my complaints... Read More

Horrible company. I was on hold for 44 minutes today to speak with a customer representative. Have had ADT services for over 5 years. Moved from one location to another and ADT moved our equipment. Over a year and a half later I received a past due statement saying we had never made a payment. On checking further the payments were being made via one of the partners personal credit card but not credited to the account. After several phone calls and conversations it was found that we in fact had been paying and we had a credit of over $100.00. Been a customer of ADT for ten years and liked their service. Decided I wanted two cameras installed as I am away from 3 months and want to monitor activities. Put it in 45 days ago for $1K. Worked fine until today when there was a power failure for a couple of hours. When the power came back and the modem and router rebooted, the cameras would not connect. I can tell other systems (ADT alarm and another wifi based monitoring system) came back fine. Tried all possible on-line reboots (remember, I'm gone) but could not connect. Called ADT and they said there is nothing they can do remotely (like reboot) and needed someone to come out and reboot the cameras. That's just not possible for... Read More

Do not waster your money. It is the worst company you can use for security - they want to you to pay for service they don't provide. The idea of security is an illusion at most. Look at their contract carefully - they don't want to take any responsibility for their own negligence even

Worst security system out there. Had robbers in my building for over 30min enjoying themselves and the alarm did not go off. The robbers passed ADTs supposable sensors and when they realized the system was not doing anything, they started joking and laughing. ADT DOES NOT care at all about its customers and it does not provide any service whatsoever. DO NOT USE ADT IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE - IT WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST REGRET Instead, they expect a consumer to continue with their contract and put in ridiculous terms into their contract like the following: 3. ADT is not an alarm company, it’s really an invoice generating company with no interest in security. They sent me to collections for a $78 bill that I contested after selling my home. Crooks. Never use them. ADT is a bad company. Instead use a local company.
