Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

This company is set up be be the greatest rip off artist of all time. You structure your company to avoid paying out against claims and torture your clients with convoluted processes to back this up. If there was a worse rating than terrible, I would give it.

I would give less than 0 rating if possible. This is my 2nd home I owned in over 18 years but the first time w/ select home warranty. They are horrible. Automated line tells you hold time is 2 mins and you hold for over 20 mins and then hung up on and had to call back and wait another 20 mins for someone to pick up the call. I let them know my call was being recorded because of the number of times I had to go back and forth on the claim. I felt like I was being scammed regarding the coverage of my unit. They referred me to section 9.1.2 of the policy agreement and told me they would only cover $150 and I would have to pay it out of pocket and submit a copy of the invoice to them for... Read More

Horrible company that should not even claim to be a home warranty company. They can’t send anyone out when requested for over a week until you get one, prorate appliances for reimbursement, and will ask you to get your own contractor to determine if it can be a claim by them...seriously DO NOT waste your $, time, and patience with them.

This company is not a real home warranty company. They are scam artists. Have a claim in now to repair a washer. Put the claim in 09/04/2018 and paid their fee for the service call. The tech said he would have to submit his diagnosis in to Select Home Warranty. Several weeks later I called Select and they told me he never turned in his diagnosis. I called the contractor and they said the part was ordered. They lied. I called select and demanded a new contractor. They came out. They gave the same diagnosis. I called today. Was told everything covered with just the deductible to pay tech for the year. Sales rep insured me everything was covered. My heat system stopped working. Tech came quickly. Fine print though case under review. They say will ONLY cover $150 since I do not have service record from previous owner of home. I paid the $75 service fee to be left with no heat because company won’t cover over $150 without service record.

This is the second warranty I bought from SHW. One for my business property and this second one on my house. I decided to after having several satisfactory claims complete.

I wish I can give them zero rating. Very bad experience. My gas furnace motor stopped working and I was forced to hire my own contractor to fix it. Select home contractor did not pick up the call. I spent $800 and running pillar to post to get the reimbursement. I am finally cancelling my policy. Please take my advice, save your time and money and never, ever go with select homes.
