In exchange for a $75 administration fee, they also offer a pro-rated refund if the initial 30 days have expired.

Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

From the beginning of starting this policy, I have nothing but good things to say about Select Home Warranty. The customer service rep who helped me buy my warranty was informative and extremely professional and very nice to deal with. When I had issues with my a/c unit, I contacted Select and they sent someone out to help fix the issue. Thank you Select Home Warranty!!

Seems to be doing ok. Communication between parties could be better and their phone workers shouldn't have such strong foreign accents. Couldn't explain to me what was covered on in the Duct Work part of my coverage, just kept telling me what wasn't covered and why my claim was being denied under the AC coverage.

Water heater was making a strange noise and giving me poor hot water. My claim and service call left me happy. The knob oddly enough got to hot and warped a bit and moved to a lower temperture. Strange but glad it was warranted.

Select Warranty has been good so far, but on the current claim, the company dispatched did not handle the appliance needing repair. I called in and they are dispatching another company. Prior claims have been settled without incident, which included a new dishwasher.

I have been with SHW for the past 4 years for 3 of my rental homes. In general, SHW is very difficult to deal with. While the sign up process was amazing and the sales reps were very nice and accommodating, any time my property manager would make a phone call in to have a service repair done, it was impossible to collect the monies promised for reimbursement claims. To date, I am still waiting on receiving a reimbursement check that was promised to me 3 years ago!! Honestly, the coverage on these policies are minimal, and typically if I have a service repair request it is either denied, saying there is no coverage, or the vendor that is sent out to do the repair is not very competent.... Was with American Home Shield (AHS) for more than three years, and only had to call in two repairs during that time period. During membership we actually SAVED them money by replacing a dishwasher on our own due to my wife wanting a certain model when the old one quit. So, five days ago we needed emergency repair on our AC unit that was discovered during a normal service call by an outside company (the ones hired by AHS never called, never showed up). I called AHS to let them know while the service company was here of the situation. They told me the part was covered. Presently I made 2 claims in the past 5 months. Just on appliances nothing major. They both were handled greatly. All the little details were paid attention to not to mess up any of my nice tiles surrounding them.

In the center of my house is a gas fireplace and the line got blocked. The line was cleared during my claim. Was not a complex job but I could not do it myself. It comes in handy for small things like this that I don't know how to fix.
