For the sake of education and peace-of-mind, this company provides a sample contract and quote calculator on their website. In exchange for a $75 administration fee, they also offer a pro-rated refund if the initial 30 days have expired.

Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Buyer Beware! Company policy is to find ways to deny valid claims. Specifically, a plumber told them three times that our hot water heater should be replaced. (normal wear and tear) Select Home Warranty denied based on lack of maintenance. Plumber clearly stated water heater would have failed no matter what maintenance had been done. Still denied. We expect other appliance claims would also be denied based on Select's interpretation of proper maintenance. Also submitted another claim for a leak in the cold water line under the kitchen sink. This claim was never assigned a contractor. Only after asking, I was told it was given to the same plumber assigned to hot water... Read More

This Company Lies - I moved into an older home - bought all new appliances- only thing I was concerned about was the older AC - so when the salesman called I asked him specifically about my AC - He they will send a service man out to fix first ( took 4 days in hot July heat) then if it can’t be fixed they will replace - I said it’s really old - he said it doesn’t matter either it will be fixed or replaced - I said again that it’s really old - he said no problem that’s why you would buy this plan to give you peace of mind and not hit with a huge bill if something does go wrong— I believed him and signed up - well a couple months later sure enough it goes out and they deny everything... Just bought the policy and already made a claim. I received email confirmation of the claim as well as when a contractor was dispatched to fix my problem. So far so good! 👍
