For the sake of education and peace-of-mind, this company provides a sample contract and quote calculator on their website. In exchange for a $75 administration fee, they also offer a pro-rated refund if the initial 30 days have expired.

Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Just bought a house and a home warranty was included. I added options to the standard warranty but there was an omission of one of the options when I received the contract. I advised my RE agent and she made a call. Problem solved!

Absolutely horrible. Horrific! Among the worst companies with which I have ever had the displeasure of dealing. Our AC unit went up over a week ago. They have been playing a game with numerous delays even after the contractor confirmed a new compressor was needed and that the unit is out of warranty. Several phone calls result in extremely long hold times and nonsense about awaiting on the "approval committee." It has been explained to them often that we are senior citizens, one of whom has breathing and heart issues. They continue to send emails requesting a phone call.
